The online job market is continuously improving and expanding year on year. The number of companies turning to online job boards and recruitment sites are also on the rise. With the internet being a major source for almost any source of information, it gives the job seekers a great place to search for jobs.

Every year there are new job sites being launched onto the market, the number of job boards advertising positions is also the rise giving job seekers a chance to view jobs advertised on behalf of hundreds of companies. With the help of the internet, companies without their own websites can get their positions advertised online. The online job market is cheaper to advertise than within newspapers or radio which cannot guarantee people will see it or read it, the online advertising enables employers to measure the response by comparing the number of views or click through rates to the number of applications. The newspapers and radio advertising will not have those measurable responses available but the prices are more expensive to advertise.

As internet and broadband package prices are less than before, the number of people connecting online has increased enabling the companies operating online a bigger audience. Finding and searching for jobs online is so much easier than it used to be when the internet was non existence, or when there were no online recruitment sites. The applying process has become easier because on most company websites they will only require a short registration form and application form which will be saved automatically so it will hold as a template for applying to multiple of applications.
With short registration and application forms, job seekers have more time to search for jobs and apply for as many as possible without worrying to redo the application form each time.

The recruitment sites enable candidates to upload a copy of their curriculum vitae which will be attached to the application form. The curriculum vitae will also be saved onto the job seekers’ account so that they would not need to re-upload it each time they apply for a job.

Nearly all jobs advertised on the website would have a descriptive job description and the skills and experience required for the job, the job seeker would only need to read those to see if they are suitable for the role or whether they want to apply for the role without the need of calling the companies directly.

Every recruitment site will have a search facility available so that finding suitable jobs would be simpler and there is no need to browse through every page of the website which can take up a lot of time. Not only are the search functions cuts the time for job seekers, there are more and more recruitment sites enabling job seekers to set up automatic e-mail alerts so that if a job is posted within their area of expertise or of interest, they will be e-mailed the position and given the options to apply for the role.

The recruitment sites usually post new jobs and live jobs everyday so that they do not need to worry about applying to a position which may not be available anymore. The recruitment sites also advertise on behalf of many other companies, thus giving the job seekers a wide variety of jobs to choose from.

Whenever job seekers apply for a role, their applications are sent directly to the employer via e-mails, so they do not need to worry about their job application getting lost in the post or worry about a delay in the post missing any closing dates. Recruitment sites are continuously improving their websites to help job seekers apply for jobs much easier. Some companies also offer curriculum vitae databases for employers to search for CVs. The companies offering this service gives candidates an option whether to allow their profiles to be seen, if so; more chances of employers viewing their profile and getting a job.

Overall, applying for jobs online have given job seekers a whole new way of searching and applying for jobs. The time it takes to complete application forms are getting shorter and sending off curriculum vitaes etc are cut out, enabling job seekers to apply for more jobs without any hassle. There are hundreds of different job sites available giving job seekers thousands of jobs to choose from. With jobs being advertised in several different locations, it makes it easier to find a suitable job or find a specialist job which may not be available within the local area. Applying for jobs online very likely to be the future of all job applications.
