A great deal of governments nowadays are going for alternative sources of energy for their people. This is apparently due to the worsening condition of the environment, specifically the natural disasters and near-depletion ozone layer which in turn can all bring the earth, humans included, great detriment if actions are not taken now. Using these problems, tons of US cities have signed the Kyoto treaty that may promote the use of clean and effective renewable energy for everybody. Alternative sources of energy are not just healthy for the environment but are also best for human health. There are two well-know alternative energy sources today - wind and solar.
Wind Energy
This has been used ages ago and today plenty of cities are using wind to produce energy for the public. The energy that is generated by windmills is similar type of energy that powers wind turbines which then convert it to electrical energy in a generator. In windy cities, you will find wind farms which you could see hundreds of windmills working to produce electrical power supply for the people.
Advantages of Using Windmills
1. Simply no pollution is produced by this kind of power source. It does not contaminate the air, water nor the
soil as it is produced and used.
2. We will never run out of wind energy because it is renewable and will always be part of nature.
3. Wind farms may also be used as a farm for grazing animals and planting crops.
Solar Energy
It's actually a great question why everyone is thinking about tapping dangerous types of power, such as nuclear energy, when there is one source that is always be there and free for all to use - the sun. The sun had been used a long time ago for cooking, heating and producing electrical energy for people to use in their everyday lives.
Advantage of Solar
1. Just like wind energy, solar energy is also renewable so you will not have to worry since you will never run out of power from the sun.
2. No pollutants will certainly contaminate water nor air even though this energy is produced.
Having an alternative source of energy is very important thesedays as the increasing threat of natural destruction and the destruction of mankind as well. The government have to start promoting the usage of any of these alternative power sources in homes. Although it may cost a lot in the beginning, the savings people can make and the benefits the environment will reap are priceless.
Author's Resource Box
If you are planning to use solar energy, you may have to do a significant amount of research, especially on the gadgets or devices you will be needing - solar panels, solar water pump systems or an Apollo Solar Inverter, etc. To help you with the basics, you can consult government authorities on solar panel technology.
