Many people think that when the kids are gone from home, the fun of decorating with pumpkins must end. That is far from the truth with these pumpkin decorating ideas.
Pumpkin decorating ideas start with making an elegant silver and black pumpkin. Start with dividing the pumpkin into 16 sections up and down. Apply sticky sequins on each of these lines alternating silver with black. Wrap the stem with pretty silver ribbon. This pumpkin can be used as a table centerpiece.
Other unique pumpkin decorating ideas for the more sophisticated home include painting a scene on them. A simple way to start is to paint the whole pumpkin black. Spray paint the entire pumpkin black and allow it to dry. Then add a holiday message with stick on letters. If desired add other stickers to further decorate the pumpkin.
Another pumpkin decorating idea includes gluing ribbon to the pumpkin. Pick two beautiful ribbons from the craft section of your favorite store. Using a hot glue gun, glue the ribbon into place in vertical stripes. If desired, the stem can be covered in ribbon by simply wrapping it and hot gluing it in place.
Turn your pumpkin into a pig by gluing a paper cup to the front of the pumpkin to make the snout. Then paint everything pink. Cut pink ears out of felt and hot glue them into place. Glue googly eyes onto the painted pumpkin. Then, using a black marker, draw eyelashes and nostrils on your pumpkin to complete your pig features. Other animals can be made in a similar way, so use your imagination.
Pick a pumpkin with a flat side and craft it into a beautiful broach using white and black paint. First paint the background an off white. Allow it to dry. Then tape a template into place. Fill in the areas of the template with black paint from a paint pen.
