If you work a lot on Twitter and Facebook, then you probably know how many people you can prospect on a daily basis, moreover online there is thousands of networking tips. There are millions of people on social networking sites, so it is easy to reach people because their profiles are always available. You can connect with them any time and all the same this is an benefit, it can be a disadvantage at the same time. It can be complicated to make long lasting relationships when you only have a short time totalk with your prospects. If you started prospecting in the grocery store or during networking events and you were able to get somebody's number then you have a great prospect with whom you can make a connection instantly through social network sites. However, the best way to connect with this person would be to just pick up the phone and call them. This is one of the best networking tips that I can give you. They will remember you because you actually made an effort to call them and talk to them.
It is important to know how to talk to your prospect. If you immediately want to pitch them and present this greatest business opportunity, then you have lost your prospect. Try to build a relationship first - build rapport. You are aiming to find out how you can help your prospect. People will automatically shut you off if they feel that they are being pitched. Share your ideas and networking tips about prospecting. Maybe you will discover that they are battling with something that you can help them with.
Asking questions is crucial. If you will find the way to add more value to the conversation, you will be on the winning side. After you have spoken with your prospect, you can look for a connection elsewhere like Facebook or Linkedin. Once again, you need to know when to talk about your business. Wait for the perfect chance to organize the meeting - an one to one dialogue with your prospect where you can share networking tips. If you show how much you care about people, then they would want to open up to you and share their problems.
You will never know the exact time to introduce your business but you would probably know when they are ready to listen. All the social media are great to connect with others.
