Many people are under the assumption that your active life is over once they have started physical therapy sessions. This is absolutely not true. Physical sports therapy and leading an active life are very compatible with each other. By participating in sports physical therapy the person will speed the healing process, increase their range of motion, and help to reduce the pain after surgery. These exercises also help person resume their normal, everyday life quicker. If the person wants to return to their previous activities because they are an athlete, a sports physical therapist can assist that person use a preventative exercise program that will reduce the possibility of any additional injuries.
It's recommended and easy to combine sports physical therapy and an active lifestyle. When a person spends their time completing normal tasks and doing the things that they you love doing, they are reestablishing their previous healthy body functions and helping their body to heal quicker.
