Camping with some more traditional tents
Teepee tents, and other tents and the history of their origins a brief look at the origins of teepee tents and where they came from
Teepee tents have always retained an affinity for me, ever since I used to be just a little child. I would play cowboys and Indians with my friends. My dad had bought me a small teepee tent, nothing at all fancy I might add, just large enough for 2 people to sit down inside, still it was awesome. All of us wanted to become Indians and so have a chance in the tent.
Well that is a long time ago and today I am a little more mature, I still have a love of teepees and of camping, I have already been on a variety of getaways and festivals with a teepee . They still and definately will continually hold a fascination with me. I think that this happened from all of the camping out that i have done, while I was much younger (about sixteen ) We would go camping a great deal. I spent my youth in a country in which great weather was abundant (it still is )
I went camping out at least one time a month over the weekend then when it was school holidays i was in the bush for almost all the time. My home is in the united kingdom right now and it is an alternative life. I see young adults hanging around on street corners and it makes me a little sad, back when I was their age I was already driving motorboats and vehicles, I was going out to camping locations alone along with my friends.
I constructed a teepee with my buddies, we made the rods our selfs and my mother created the covering with material we copied from a book that I found in the small school library, it took me and my pals a month to make it, Every weekend we would undoubtedly get together and work on the rods, while my mother made the covering. it was not quite water-resistant however that was ok we'd created it!
The tent is now long since gone, merely a memory, I have even lost touch with the buddies that I knew growing up just like me they also have gone to live in various areas of the planet, settled down and have got families I am certain . It's not the actual tent this is important here. It's the fact that we all built it our selves, the seed of ambition that began my personal very long quest to exactly where I am right now, it educated me to be self-sufficient, to possess courage and ambition and most importantly above all it trained me in the power of having goals.
Teepee tents continue to be with me no , I haven't made one for a very long time, I hire them right now when I desire to go camping. they still make me have the same as I did all those years back. When I 'm camping I am an adventurer, a traveler and a seeker of fun and lost treasure. Every one of the worries of the world are no longer that i'm at peace together with nature. I have a tiny child now and I wish that one day soon I will take her camping out, we'll hire a teepee and go on a journey - I hope that it will teach her the same things which it educated me in.
