Teepee tents, and other tents and the history of their origins a brief look at the origins of teepee tents and where they came from
Teepee tents have always held a fascination with me, from the time that i was a little kid. I would play cowboys and Indians with my buddies. My dad had bought me a little teepee tent, nothing elaborate I might add, only big enough for two people to sit down inside, still it was in fact brilliant. We all wanted to be Indians and have an opportunity in the tent.
Well that's years ago and now I am somewhat more mature, I continue to have an appreciation of teepees as well as camping out, I've been on a number of vacations and festivals using a teepee . They still and will continually hold a passion for me. I believe that this came about from all the camping that i did, while I was much younger (around sixteen ) We would go camping out a lot. I was raised in a region where good climatic conditions was abundant (it still is )
I went camping at least once per month over the weekend and when it was summer break i was in the bush for the majority of the time. My home is the british isles now and its an alternative life. I notice the younger generation hanging about on street corners and it tends to make me a little sad, when I was their age I'd been already driving boats and vehicles, I was visiting camping areas unaccompanied with my buddies.
I constructed a teepee with my friends, we produced the poles our selfs and my mother made the covering with fabric we made it from a book which I found in the modest school local library, it took me and my buddies 30 days to make it, Every single weekend we would meet up and work on the rods, while my mother produced the covering. it wasn't quite water resistant but that was okay we'd built it!
The actual tent is already long since gone, just a recollection, I have actually lost touch with the buddies which I knew as a kid like me they have relocated to some other part of the world, settled down and also have got families I am sure . It isn't the camping tent that is significant here. It really is the point that we all created it our selves, it was that started out my long journey to where I'm right now, it taught me to be independent, to have courage and aspirations and more importantly of all it taught me the power of having aspirations.
Teepee tents remain with me no , I have not made one for a long time, I rent them right now when I would like to go camping out. they still cause me to feel have the same as I did those in the past. While I am camping out I'm an adventurer, a traveler plus a finder of enjoyment and lost treasure. All the concerns of the world are gone and I am at peace together with nature. I've a wee little girl right now and I wish that one day soon I will take her camping out, we'll hire a teepee and go on a journey - I hope that it will teach her the same things which it taught me.
